A planning application was submitted to redevelop derelict land for residential use. The site was formerly used as commercial premises and located adjacent to railway land.
NIEA requested that a PRA was carried out for the site due to the site being located immediately adjacent to railway land, as well as other historic contaminative land uses being identified in the surrounding area.
McCloy Consulting carried out the PRA report in accordance with the relevant industry guidance (CLR11) to meet the requirements of planning.
The PRA report submitted to planning highlighted all the risks and concluded that there was no risk to human health and the environment at the site, and as such the development could proceed as proposed and no further investigation was necessary.
The report was accepted by NIEA and Belfast City Council Environmental Health Department.
